I set up my still life and looked at that pear and thought, "This reminds me of somebody I know who could charm a grumpy old man into being a sweet little boy again".   

My 8"x8" acrylic palette knife painting is titled, "Charmed".  It's loaded with texture and my favorite blues.  It's just waiting to put a smile on the face of its future collector.

So, I went for a walk today down at the Chattahoochee River.  This magnificent southern live oak tree (that you see here in my painting) hangs over the river and graces all who pass by.  Over the years, I've had the privilege of rendering my impression of this tree on canvas.

My 12"x12" acrylic painting, "Abundant Journey", was inspired by the still waters and the path of righteousness that King David spoke about in one of the most well known Psalms of all time, Psalm 23.  I've memorized this Psalm so that I can take it with me everywhere I go.  It inspires and sustains me as I walk through this journey called, "Life".

"Its wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky.  Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears." - Helen Keller  

This painting is all about the sky, then the aspens leading down to the path.  Usually, it's the other way around in my paintings.  The path takes the viewer where I want their eye to lead.  I love this quote from Helen Keller.  Think about it, she couldn't see the sky.  However, she could smell the fresh air while feeling the wind on her skin (not listening to it).

Lionfish Art

Creatures that are both breathtakingly beautiful and deadly at the same time intrigue me. The lionfish, with its long flamboyant pectoral fins and dazzling red-orange and white striped body, is one of those creatures. Second to the stingray, its sting is one of the most venomous fish in the ocean.

Although I've seen these fish in the wild, there’s a stunning exhibit of them in the Gatlinburg Aquarium, one of my favorite aquariums in the United States!
